Union Academy Wins Big at 2025 Lenoir County Livestock Contest

Union Academy’s 4-H Senior Skillathon and Quizbowl Team demonstrated outstanding knowledge and teamwork at the 2025 Lenoir County Livestock Skillathon and Quizbowl contests, walking away with top honors in both team and individual categories.

Union Academy’s 4-H Senior Skillathon and Quizbowl Team demonstrated outstanding knowledge and teamwork at the 2025 Lenoir County Livestock Skillathon and Quizbowl contests, walking away with top honors in both team and individual categories.

The competition marked the third event in the highly competitive Supreme Skillathon Circuit, and Union Academy's students rose to the occasion.

Individual Results:
1st Place – Aubrey Mekus
2nd Place – Lacie Alexander
3rd Place – Lindsay Van Art
5th Place – Greyson Rouse

Team Results:
1st Place – Livestock Skillathon UA Senior Team
1st Place – Livestock Quizbowl UA Senior Team

“These students have dedicated countless hours to studying animal science, industry practices, and livestock evaluation,” said agriculture teacher and coach Michael Alexander. “Their commitment and discipline are truly paying off.”
