4-H is America’s largest youth-based development organization with more than 6 million members. 4-H is commonly recognized by its green, four leaf clover with four H’s representing Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. Students are challenged to explore various careers while participating in multiple Agricultural-based competitions, community service projects and hands-on learning experiences. Students have the opportunity to travel, meet new people and engage in Agricultural opportunities through experiential learning.
FFA
FFA is a dynamic youth organization for middle and high school students who have an interest in Agriculture or an Agricultural related topic or career. The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural education. Students have the opportunity to compete in Agricultural-based competitions along with participating in community service projects, field trips and social activities. FFA helps members discover their talents through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.
Help guide the junior class officers with student activities. We meet once a week to discuss upcoming events, planning of events, etc. The big event the junior class plans is the Junior/Senior Prom.

We meet as needed to discuss upcoming events, planning of events, etc. The senior class raises money for their senior gift that they present at graduation. Fundraisers include: selling senior shirts, candy sales, Powderpuff football, etc.
DECA is an association of marketing students. Union Academy DECA members manage a variety of student business enterprises, honing their skills in leadership, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.
Union Academy students who are currently enrolled or successfully completed a business course are eligible to join.
Interact clubs bring together young people to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary club sponsors mentor and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.

The International Thespian Society (ITS), an honorary group for middle and high school theatre students, is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA). The mission of ITS is to honor student excellence in the theatre arts.
SOS is a new club that meets on UA’s campus this year! We are dedicated to empowering young people to speak up and speak openly about mental health. Our mission is to stop the stigma of mental health in our school, community, and beyond. SOS members are committed to starting a conversation about mental health. Educating others about mental illness and sharing that information with others breaks down the barriers of the stigma surrounding mental health. We don’t want anyone to struggle in silence. SOS wants to be “un-silent” about mental health. We are people who are support-seeking and standing up for the silent voices of mental health. Come join us! All are welcome!
The purpose of NAHS is to allow students the opportunity to celebrate the arts in and outside of their school. Students learn how to take their hands-on knowledge of the arts into the community around them. Students create events and utilize their gifts as a group to foster a community of art appreciation. During meeting times, students work to brainstorm events hosted by NAHS throughout the year, order supplies, contact organizations to work with, and contribute to smaller scale opportunities within the school.
The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The organization’s motto is “Whoever claims to be noble must conduct himself nobly.”
NJHS elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These five pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1929.
The Union Academy Science National Honor Society (SNHS) is thrilled to host our second annual science fair for 3rd-8th grade students! The 2023 UA Science Fair is open to all 3rd through 8th-grade students and will be on Thursday, April 20th, at 5:00 pm in the MPR. Please fill out this google form no later than Friday, March 24th, if you would like to participate.
SNHS will be hosting 3 workshops prior to the science fair. During these workshops, members of SNHS will aid students by providing ideas, help with posters/experiments, and anything else! Please remember that these workshops are OPTIONAL - attendance is not required to participate in the science fair.
The workshop dates include:
- March 22nd (Wednesday) @ 3:15-4:00 pm
- March 29th (Wednesday) @ 3:15-4:00 pm
- April 5th (Wednesday) @ 3:15-4:00 pm
Workshops will be located in Mrs. Mantione's room (HS Science Hallway, Room #279). If students are unfamiliar with the location of Mrs. Mantione's room, SNHS members can pick students up from their last class of the day and guide them to the workshop (by request).
The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school-wide community.
