Back-to-School 2026-27

All mandatory forms/acknowledgements are located in Infinite Campus or MyPaymentsPlus. Information about enrolling into Infinite Campus was emailed to all new families. When you receive the activation code from Infinite Campus, please register immediately and complete the required information.

Infinite Campus: Complete the medical information

• Medical: All students are "opted-in" to receive health room services. If you choose not to utilize/Opt-Out of School Health Services for your child, please complete the Refusal of School Health Services Form.

MyPaymentsPlus: New students can enroll in MPP once they receive their child's student ID #.

MyPaymentsPlus: Technology acknowledgements/agreements

MyPaymentsPlus: Field Trip Permission (July 1, 2027-June 30, 2028)

Payment due in MyPaymentsPlus by August 21, 2026.

• Students need their HR teacher name to complete payment.
• Activity dues and what is included can be found on the Activity page.
• Students cannot participate in field trips or receive their Family Day shirts until the Activity due is paid.

Using School Technology

Union Academy Charter School ("School") encourages the use of in-school technology, 1:1 (one-to-one) devices and the network, including the Internet, as a tool for research and education. Technology and the network, like any other school property, must be used for the educational purposes for which they are intended. All school technology, including the Chromebooks issued to students are the property of the School. The use of technology is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked at any time for inappropriate conduct.

Students must abide by rules and behavioral expectations both at home and within the school, all of which are considered a part of the School’s Student Conduct Code, with violations subject to possible student discipline.

Technology Usage Fee

While Union Academy has invested largely in its technology program and resources, there is also a Technology Usage Fee. The Usage Fee for students is $30 and includes the Device Protection Plan. The Usage Fee covers the use of the device, support, and software.

The Student Device Protection Plan is a program designed to reduce repair costs for students and families in the event of accidental damage related to school technology. 

Without the Device Protection Plan, families are responsible for 100% of repair/replacement fees when damage occurs. A replacement Chromebook is $320 or more depending on model. 

Payments can be made in Union Academy’s Student Accounting Platform – My Payments Plus (or “MPP”).

• If your student is new to NC Public Schools they will need a NC Public Schools Health Transmittal Form completed by their healthcare provider. This is a state requirement. Please submit this form to the health room prior to the first day of school.

The August lunch menu is open and closes July 27 at 9pm (no exceptions). There will be NO catered lunch the first week of school. 

• Grades K-4: You can view your teacher name through Infinite Campus on July 15. 
• 5-12 only needs the grade level. (School ID # is NOT needed.)
• Catered Lunch System registration
• All other months, Catered Lunch must be ordered by the 22nd of the month unless otherwise noted. 

UA does not have a traditional cafeteria. Students may order lunch from Boonli or bring a lunch from home. Visit the Catered Lunch page on our website for the details. 

MyPaymentsPlus (MPP) is our online payment system for After School and Activity Dues as well as other items when needed.

• New Students: To register for MyPaymentsPlus you will need your student's ID number and HR teacher's name. You can view those in Infinite Campus beginning July 15.
• Returning Students: To pay Activity Dues, you will need your student's HR teacher name. MPP plus will prompt you to update your child's grade level.

Registration is open in MyPaymentsPlus for returning students or when you receive Student ID# in Inf. Campus on July 15 (new students). 

• Grades K-6 until 6 p.m. HW Club Grades 7-12 until 5:30 p.m.
• Registration deadline is Thursday night, at 11:59pm, of the week before.
• There is a $25 late fee (per child) after the 11:59pm cut off

K-5 School Day: 7:30am-2:00pm

Please note that stop times for carpool are FIRM as the 6-12 student carpool begins in BOTH carpools when K-5 ends. 

South Carpool K-2 (and older siblings)

Grades K-2 Overview

• School Day: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM
• Morning Carpool Arrival: 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM
  • South Carpool: Kindergarten-2nd grade (and older siblings)
  • 3-12 siblings see below in specific grade level information
• Afternoon Carpool Dismissal: 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM (firm stop)
  • South Carpool: Kindergarten-2nd grade (and 3-5 siblings)
  • Carpool will end at 2:30 PM to clear the lanes for MS/HS
• K-2 students can wait in a designated area to be picked up with their 6-12 siblings at 3:00 PM carpool.
• K-2 students WITHOUT 6-12 siblings MUST be picked up by 2:30pm.

K-2 Morning: 7:00am-7:30am (firm stop as 6-12 will enter the carpool lanes at 7:30am)

• Use all three lanes and zipper at the cones to two lanes for drop off. Please use UA character and take turns allowing all lanes to zipper. All the lanes are equal. 
• In the drop off area, turn off your engine. 
• Students should exit on the passenger side and walk directly to the sidewalk - not in the lanes.
• Wait for staff to signal when all students are safely on the sidewalk before putting your car in Drive. Look for an orange light stick.
• K-5 students report directly to their classroom.

K-2 Afternoon: 2:00pm-2:30pm (firm stop as 6-12 will enter the carpool lanes at 2:30pm)

• Cartags REQUIRED - no exceptions
• Use all three lanes and zipper at the cone to two lanes for pick up. Please use UA character and take turns allowing all lanes to zipper. All the lanes are equal. 
• In the pick-up area, turn off your engine. 
• Stay in your car. Students will be brought to your car. Do not walk to the dismissal area. 
• Wait for staff to signal when all students are safely in their cars before putting your car in Drive.

North Carpool 3-5 

Grades 3-5 Overview

• School Day: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM
• Morning Carpool Arrival: 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM
  • North Carpool: 3rd-5th grade (and older siblings)
  • 6-12 siblings see below in specific grade level information
• Afternoon Carpool Dismissal: 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM (firm stop)
  • North Carpool: 3rd-5th grade (no K-2 or 6-12 siblings)
  • Carpool will end at 2:30 PM to clear the lanes for MS/HS
• 3-5 students can wait in a designated area to be picked up with their 6-12 siblings at 3:00 PM carpool.
• 3-5 students WITHOUT 6-12 siblings MUST be picked up by 2:30pm.

3-5 Morning: 7:00am-7:30am (firm stop)

• Use all three lanes until you reach the cones. Then zipper into ONE lane (closest to the school). Please use UA character and take turns allowing the center lane to zipper. All the lanes are equal. 
• Follow staff instructions in the drop off area in front of the school.
• Put your car in park while dropping off. 
• All students should exit on the passenger side and walk directly to the sidewalk.
• 3-5 students report directly to their classroom.

*As a courtesy to our families who need to drop off earlier, the MPR will open at 7:00am for 6-12 students. Drop-off in the area of your YOUNGEST CHILD. 6-8 students to the MPR and 9-12 students to the HS Gym. 

3-5 Afternoon: 2:00pm-2:30pm (firm stop)

• Cartags REQUIRED - no exceptions
• Do not enter the far right lane (closest to the school) until 1:50 PM. Deliveries, early dismissals, and emergency vehicles must have access to the school. If you block the far right lane prior to 1:50 PM, you will be asked to exit carpool and reenter. 
• Use all three lanes for pick up. 
• In the pick-up area, turn off your engine. 
• Staff will hold students on the sidewalk until all cars are stopped. 
• Students should walk on the sidewalk until they reach their car - not in the lanes.
• Wait for staff to signal when all students are safely in their cars before putting your car in Drive.

*Safety! Safety! Safety! Parking lot is CLOSED except to staff. Do not enter the parking lot during morning or afternoon drop off. Use carpool. 

North Carpool Grades 6-8

• School Day: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Morning Carpool Arrival: 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM
  • North Carpool: (plus HS siblings)
  • 6-8 siblings may be dropped off in K-5 morning carpool for the youngest sibling and wait in the MPR until 7:50 AM.
• Afternoon Carpool Dismissal: 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • North Carpool (plus any other K-12 siblings)
  • Do not enter carpool until after 2:30 PM when K-5 carpool ends. Cars who enter BEFORE 2:30 PM will have to exit carpool with the 3-5 cars and reenter at the correct time.
  • K-5 siblings can be picked up from a designated common area and walked by their older sibling to the car

Morning Grades 6-8 (and older siblings)

• Use all three lanes until you reach the cones in. Then zipper into ONE lane (closest to the school). Please use UA character and take turns allowing the center lane to zipper. All the lanes are equal. 
• Follow staff instructions in the drop off area in front of the school.
• Put your car in park while dropping off. 
• All students should exit on the passenger side and walk directly to the sidewalk.
• MS students report to MPR before 7:50 AM.

Afternoon Grades 6-8 (and any other K-12 siblings)

• Cartags REQUIRED - no exceptions
• Do not enter carpool until AFTER 2:30 PM. 3-5 carpool ends at 2:30 PM. If you enter carpool during 3-5 dismissal you must exit with the 3-5 cars and reenter. 
• Use all three lanes for pick up. 
• In the pick-up area, turn off your engine. 
• You may exit your car and stand on the sidewalk AT YOUR CAR to help your child find you. 
• Staff will hold students on the sidewalk until all cars are stopped. 
• Students should walk on the sidewalk until they reach their car - not in the lanes.
• Wait for staff to signal when all students are safely in their cars before putting your car in Drive.

South Carpool Grades 9-12 (no MS siblings)

• School Day: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Morning Carpool Arrival: 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM
  • South Carpool
  • 9-12 siblings may be dropped off in K-5 morning carpool with younger siblings and wait in the HS Gym until 7:50 AM.
• Afternoon Carpool Dismissal: 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • South Carpool 
  • Do not enter carpool until after 2:30 PM when K-2 carpool ends. Cars who enter BEFORE 2:30 PM will have to exit carpool with the K-2 cars and reenter at the correct time.

• Staff will ask students to wait on the sidewalk until all cars are stopped. 
• Students should walk on the sidewalk until they reach their car - not in the lanes.

Car tags are required for afternoon pickup. No exceptions.

The dress code is specific to each school. Check it carefully before purchasing uniforms and spirit wear.

• Lockers will be assigned only to HS students who request one. Complete the Locker form.
• We are in need of class officers for Student Government for the 26-27 school year. Students who are interested in running for office should complete the Class Officer form.

Absence Note

Families volunteer webpage

• Enter volunteer hours in MobileServe. One account per family. Visit the webpage for details.
• Each family is expected to serve a minimum of 60 hours each year. 

High School Students volunteer webpage

• Students are expected to complete 105 service hours before graduation. Visit the webpage for details. 
• All hours must be entered into MobileServe in the school year they are completed.

• CAC fees and seasonal fees for middle and high school athletes are paid in MyPaymentsPlus.

We are excited to welcome a certified therapy dog to our school campus as part of our social-emotional support initiatives. The therapy dog will participate in supervised activities designed to promote a positive school climate, reduce stress, and support student well-being.

While participation in therapy dog activities is voluntary and closely monitored, we understand that some families may prefer that their child not interact with the therapy dog due to allergies, fears, or personal beliefs.

If you do not wish for your child to participate in any therapy dog-related activities, please complete and return this form to your child’s homeroom teacher. Students whose families choose to opt out will be respectfully excluded from all interactions involving the therapy dog.
