Monroe - March 13, 2023 - The Union Academy DECA Chapter attended the DECA Career and Development Conference in Greensboro, NC where it was recognized as a NC Chapter of Distinction for an exceptional program of work for the 2022-23 school year. The Chapter also received recognition for achieving THRIVE level for outstanding activities within the school and community. 

Greg Baker, Kylie Brodt, Justin Harris, Aiden Hopper, Grant Johnson and James Rogers attended workshops and competed at the state level in an event of their choice. 

Grant Johnson medaled as the statewide top ten finalist in the Retail Merchandising and also placed in the top ten statewide for his Marketing Fundamentals exam score. 

The following UA students were presented with a pin to recognize proficiency in their event: Greg Baker (Hotel and Lodging Management), Kylie Brodt (Principles of Marketing), Aidan Hopper (Sports and Entertainment Marketing), Grant Johnson (Retail Merchandising), and James Rogers (Hotel and Lodging Management).
