About the Director:
Ashley Steele began teaching in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Chowan University, studying under Dr. Greg Parker. She also holds her Master of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She joined the UA faculty in 2013 and has served students in K-12. Currently, she works with music and theatre students in grades 6-12. She also serves as the director for all UA performances. Mrs. Steele serves as the faculty advisor for the International Thespian Society (ITS) and one of the advisors for the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Mrs. Steele teaches private voice and piano lessons to several UA students as well as students and adults in the community. Mrs. Steele holds a current membership with North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA), the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME), the North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC), and the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).
