I joined the faculty of UA in 2020 but have been a UA parent since 2015. Before UA, I spent 5 years working for a virtual charter school where I worked remotely teaching students across the state as well as developing curriculum resources. I also worked in the county public schools for many years.
I received my undergraduate degrees at Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA. I attended graduate school at UNC-C and UNC-W for my graduate degrees and certifications.
My husband, Matthew, and I live in Monroe with our three boys who all attend UA. We all love to travel, visit Universal Orlando, and play silly board games together. My husband and I are avid escape room players and have played about 200 rooms across the east coast.

I am very excited to start another year at UA! I came to Union Academy in 2014 and have enjoyed growing here as both a teacher and a person. I am originally from the eastern side of the state and I attended East Carolina University for both my BS and MAEd in History Education. As a classroom teacher, I enjoyed incorporating technology into my daily lessons and look forward to helping the staff at Union Academy do the same.
At Union Academy, we strive to make sure students are exposed to all types of technology. Our goal is to prepare them for the 21st century through the use of computer labs, laptops, tablets, SMART boards, online resources, and more. We also work to ensure teachers are inspired and encouraged when dealing with (and teaching) technology. Success for our students is our goal with the aid of technology and support.
