Union Academy’s 4-H Senior Poultry Judging Team achieved remarkable success at the National Poultry and Egg Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky, proudly representing North Carolina.

Union Academy’s 4-H Senior Poultry Judging Team achieved remarkable success at the National Poultry and Egg Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky, proudly representing North Carolina. Their dedication and hard work earned them impressive accolades in the highly competitive event.

Team Achievements

  • Reserve National Champion Team Overall
  • 1st Place National Market Egg Team
  • 2nd Place National Egg Production Team
  • 3rd Place National Market Poultry Team

Individual Recognitions

  • Blake Carter – 2nd Place Overall
  • Bella Mitchell – 3rd Place Overall
  • Sofia Manriquez – 6th Place Overall
  • Aubrey Mekus – 9th Place Overall
  • Lindsay Van Art – 17th Place Overall

The competition was incredibly close, with the team finishing just half a point behind the 1st-place winners. These students devoted countless hours of practice and preparation to excel on this national stage, demonstrating their skill and commitment to excellence.

Mr. Alexander and UA Alum Kaleb Pope coached and supported the team. Union Academy celebrates this extraordinary achievement and the dedication of its students and mentors.

“This team’s success is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and passion for agriculture,” said Agriculture teacher Mr. Michael Alexander. “Competing at this level takes an incredible amount of preparation, and I couldn’t be prouder of how they represented Union Academy and the state of North Carolina on the national stage.”
