Union Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Alison Simpson as the new Head of School.

Union Academy (UA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Alison Simpson as the new Head of School. Mrs. Simpson brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware, a master's degree in Elementary Education from Wilmington University, and a specialist's degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

With twenty-four years of experience in education, including eleven years in charter school leadership, Mrs. Simpson has demonstrated her dedication and expertise. She has spent the last eight years as the Head Principal at Union Preparatory Academy at Indian Trail, a school she founded in 2016.

“My educational philosophy centers around the belief that every student deserves a high-quality education that nurtures their unique strengths and interests. I am passionate about creating a collaborative culture where teachers are empowered, students are inspired, and families are engaged partners in the educational process,” said Mrs. Simpson.

Mrs. Simpson is a staunch advocate for students and teachers, believing that schools should be safe, challenging, and engaging environments. 

“I am thrilled to embark on this journey at Union Academy, and I am eager to work with the staff and families to create an enriching and positive education experience for students,” said Mrs. Simpson.

“The UA School Board is excited to welcome Mrs. Simpson as the new Head of School at Union Academy. She is an exemplary educator with a steadfast commitment to fostering academic excellence. We look forward to the positive impact she will have at UA,” said Nolan McBride, UA School Board Chair.

Union Academy will celebrate its 25th anniversary this school year.  Mrs. Simpson joins UA as the sixth Head of School.
