Mr. Cobb - Leadership - Grades 5-8

Parents and Students,
Welcome to Mr. (Coach) Cobb's 2021-22 Leadership Development Class Page! Here you will find a little bit about the teacher and the class. First, a little bit about Mr. Cobb and his educational/teaching background.
Mr. Cobb attended Barton College in Wilson, NC where he lettered in Tennis for four years. Mr. Cobb was elected SGA President his senior year. Upon graduating from Barton College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy, Mr. Cobb began teaching at his high school alma mater, Greenfield School in Wilson, NC. For four years he taught Physical Education to first through eighth grade in addition to coaching Varsity Men's and Women's Tennis as well as Middle School Boys' Basketball. Mr. Cobb also assisted with the Varsity Men's Basketball team during that time.
In 2014, Mr. Cobb took a job as an Admissions Counselor at his college alma mater, Barton, which included assisting the Bulldog Men's and Women's tennis teams. He moved to Union County in 2016 and began teaching 8th grade Science and Social Studies and coaching the Varsity Men's Tennis and Middle School Boys' Basketball teams. After a year off to complete his Master's degree in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri - Columbia, Mr. Cobb returned to Union Academy where he taught Physical Education/Health to grades 5-8 for two years. Mr. Cobb is now excited to start his second year in the Leadership Development program for grades 5-8. Coach Cobb coaches the Varsity and Middle School Women's and Men's Tennis teams.
Mr. Cobb married his wife, Ellie Bragg, a lawyer in downtown Monroe, in October 2017. They have a golden retriever named Raleigh and are expecting their first child, Christopher William Cobb, in September 2021.
