Tessa Burleson - High School Science
Hello! I am a native of North Carolina, born and raised in Stanly County. I graduated from West Stanly High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. After college, I was an Environmental Geologist that specialized in water and soil quality remediation. I then chose to follow my heart and become a high school science teacher.
I hold a NC Comprehensive Secondary Science teaching license and have taught Earth/Environmental Science, Physical Science, Chemistry and AP Environmental Science. I have 21 years of teaching experience in high school science and am excited to be a part of the UA family! Along with teaching, I am the Co-Advisor of the 4-H/FFA program here at UA and I love agriculture almost as much as I love geology!
I have 4 wonderful children, 2 in college and 2 children that attend Union Academy. I love the emphasis on Character, Challenge and Community here at Union Academy, it is part of what makes this a great school!
