My life has taken many wonderful twists and turns. I grew up in Illinois and earned my BS in Biology, minoring in math and chemistry, at Northern Illinois University. From there, I lived in Boston, MA for 4 years and worked as a research technician in biotechnology. Another move to the SanFransisco Bay area where I continued in biotech for 4 more years, finally earning the title of "Research Scientist". Our next move was to Omaha, NE where my husband and I had our three children. Finally, our last move was to Matthews NC in 2006.
I began teaching at UA in 2007 in middle school math, then high school biology in 2013. Happily, all three of my kids are UA ulumni! :)
I decided to retire from teaching in 2015 but found I just wasn't content being away from the students, the teachers, and the academics. I am thrilled to be back at Union Academy this year teaching Earth science and chemistry.
