Mrs. Urh - High School Science

I have been happily teaching here at UA since 2007!!
Here is a little about who I am...

I was born in Wisconsin but grew up mostly in Illinois.
I earned a BS in molecular biology, minor in chemistry from Northern Illinois University.

I loved my work in biotechnology: 4 years of research in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA. Then 4 years in R&D at Bio-Rad Laboratories in the San Francisco Bay area.

Omaha, NE was home for the next 11 years for my husband and I (go Huskers!), and eventually our 3 children: Sam, Nicole, and Julia (all UA alumni!).

In 2006, we arrived in NC. I began teaching middle school math at UA until moving to high school science to teach biology. I "retired" in 2015, but missed life at UA and returned in 2018.

I am thrilled to have the privilege to teach science to such an wonderful student body here at UA, along side equally awesome co-teachers!

My tutoring schedule is (almost) any day after school - advance notice appreciated.
