I attended Bryan College and earned a BA degree in Christian Education. At Queens University, I completed my Master's Degree in Teaching.
I am the mother of six wonderful children. Three of them currently attend UA. My oldest sons and daughter are graduates of Union Academy and are attending college locally. My husband is a Warranty Manager for a National home builder. We have three fur babies: Mocha, Molly and Daisy.
My first eight years of teaching were spent in a private school in Charlotte. I spent many years homeschooling my children in the first few years of their education. Then thirteen years ago, my oldest son was accepted into the UA lottery! After staying home for many years, I decided to start teaching again and was hired at UA. This is my sixth year teaching Cardinals. I started back as a substitute teacher and then joined the first grade team. I feel honored to teach in a school that focuses on Character and Education.
I look forward to investing in your child's life this year. I have a passion for reading and watching students learn to read brings me great joy. We will learn and grow together!
I am so excited to be a part of the Union Academy family. I graduated from Appalachian State University in December of 2016. My degree is in Sociology with a concentration in families in Intimate Relationships. During my free time, I love exploring the outdoors, watching a good movie, or being with my husband, friends, and family. I know UA is perfect for me, because it will allow me to guide and motivate students, as well as be involved within the community. I am very excited to work with all the staff members and I look forward to a great year!
