I attended Bryan College and earned a BA degree in Christian Education. At Queens University, I completed my Master's Degree in Teaching. I am the mother of six wonderful children. Three of them currently attend UA. My oldest sons and daughter are graduates of Union Academy and are attending college locally. My husband is a Warranty Manager for a National home builder. We have three fur babies: Mocha, Molly and Daisy. My first eight years of teaching were spent in a private school in Charlotte. I spent many years homeschooling my children in the first few years of their education. Then thirteen years ago, my oldest son was accepted into the UA lottery! After staying home for many years, I decided to start teaching again and was hired at UA. This is my seventh year teaching Cardinals. I started back as a substitute teacher and then joined the first grade team. I feel honored to teach in a school that focuses on Character and Education.
I look forward to investing in your child's life this year. I have a passion for reading and watching students learn to read brings me great joy. We will learn and grow together!
I am currently attending WGU and will graduate this fall with my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I am a newlywed with my high school sweetheart of 8 years and we have recently became dog parents to our sweet but crazy golden doodle Motley. I started at UA 5 years ago as an Afterschool teacher and have been in the classroom as an interventionist for 3 years, working in grades 4th and 1st. I have had a passion for education for as long as I can remember and I can’t wait for all of our adventures this year.
