Union Academy Athletics Mission Statement
To provide student athletes with the opportunity to develop their character and athletic abilities in an environment which challenges athletes to support the overall mission of Union Academy through sportsmanship, commitment, teamwork, integrity, and high academic standards.

Per state requirements, in order for students to participate in any workouts or tryouts for the upcoming year, an UPDATED PHYSICAL and a COMPLETED ATHLETIC PACKET must be on file. Please make sure all appropriate paperwork is up to date and submitted to Athletic Trainer Amber Bailey or Athletic Director Mark Gosnell.
The athletic packet can be found below, or by accessing the link through the main website under Important Forms. The completed physical form and completed athletic packet may be turned in in one of two ways:
  • Scan the documents and email them to High School Athletic Director Mark Gosnell: mgosnell@unionacademy.org OR
  • Bring the documents to Union Academy and turn them in to the front office. PLEASE make sure the forms are in a CLEARLY MARKED ENVELOPE noting Mark Gosnell's name, your child's name, and "Required Athletic Forms."

Union Academy High School Athletics is governed by the rules and regulations of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.  Union Academy is a member of the Southern Piedmont 1-A conference for football only, and a member of the PAC-7 Conference for all other sports.  We offer a wide variety of male, female and coed teams during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Each coach must have training and certifications offered through the National Federation of High Schools including but are not limited to CPR and Concussion certifications.  This also includes national recognition in the "Heads Up" program by all football coaches which focuses on safe practices and guidelines to prevent concussions.
