Union Academy Athletics Mission Statement
To provide student athletes with the opportunity to develop their character and athletic abilities in an environment which challenges athletes to support the overall mission of Union Academy through sportsmanship, commitment, teamwork, integrity, and high academic standards.

Per state requirements, in order to participate in any workouts or tryouts for the upcoming year, an UPDATED PHYSICAL and a COMPLETED ATHLETIC PACKET must be on file.

The athletic packet can be found below, or by accessing the link through the main website under Important Forms. The physical form and athletic packet may be turned in in two ways:
  • Scan the documents and email them to Middle School Athletic Director Michelle Phifer: mphifer@unionacademy.org OR
  • Bring the documents to Union Academy and turn them in to the front office. PLEASE make sure the forms are in a CLEARLY MARKED ENVELOPE noting Michelle Phifer's name, your child's name, and "Required Athletic Forms."
  • Please do NOT turn these forms into your child's homeroom teacher.  The beginning of the year brings with it a lot of changes as well as paperwork.  We do not want any delays in getting the athletic paperwork to the appropriate personnel which could prevent your child from participating.
Please contact Michelle Phifer at mphifer@unionacademy.org if you have any questions.

Union Academy Middle School Athletics is governed by the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Department of Instruction, followed by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.  Union Academy is a member of the Carolina Beltway Conference and offers a wide variety of male, female and coed teams during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Although not mandated by NCDPI, Union Academy takes the extra step in providing a safe learning environment to our middle school athletes as we prepare them for the next level of play at the High School level.  All coaches have been trained and are certified through the National Federation of High Schools and includes but is not limited to CPR and Concussion certifications which are renewed annually.

Please visit each season's link to the right to view the specific sports that are offered.
