MRS. SCHAEFER

Welcome to our class community! I have been teaching for 26 years (24 in second grade) and over half of those years have been here at Union Academy. I grew up in Centerville, Ohio just outside of Dayton, and went to Purdue University for my degree in elementary education. I live in Matthews, NC with my husband, Scott, of 26 years, my two boys, David and Luke, and our sweet golden retriever/lab mix, Ginger. David attends UNCC and will be a senior. My youngest son Luke will be a sophomore at UNCW this fall.

It is a privilege to teach at Union Academy. I firmly believe in the 3C's of character, community, and challenge and look forward to partnering with the families with whom we are blessed to work to help your children become the best version of themselves. In Schaytown, we build a strong sense of family and work to become responsible and respectful citizens, while having fun along the way! Our door is always open and we look forward to an awesome year!
