Hi there Cardinals!
My name is Amanda Lubkemann. I am a first-year teacher here at UA this year (2021-2022).
I love to teach Anatomy and Physiology, Earth Science, Sports Medicine, as well as Biology!
I will also be involved with the soccer programs here at UA!
I grew up in Boone, NC and attended college at Lees McRae College where I played for the NCAA DII Women's Soccer team and competed on the USCSA Women's Skiing and Snowboarding team, on which we even competed at the National level! I received my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences and minors in Mathematics and Athletic Coaching. I will also soon from Lees McRae with my Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Biology.
Also in college I served as President for the Order of the Tower Presidential Ambassador Association where I assisted in Admissions and Presidential events as well as giving weekly campus tours to future LMC students. You could also find me serving in Student Government as Class of 2021 Vice President and Executive Secretary/Treasurer, representing student-athletes in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) or leading Summer Orientation!
I enjoy attending church on the weekends and bible study through the week. I love the outdoors as well as doing anything adventurous from hiking to biking, to skiing and snowboarding, to sky diving or ziplining, and so much more!
Fun fact: I worked as a zipline guide all four years of college and have also "jumped out of a perfectly good airplane" as some would say!
Please don't hesitate to stop by my classroom anytime!
