Monroe, NC (May 20, 2021) - The Union Academy FFA Meats Evaluation Team competed in the NC State FFA Meat Evaluation Career Development Events. Students/teams (from across the state) had to identify over 100 retail cuts of beef, lamb and pork. They also had to place a class of ribeye steaks based on both quality and yield. Finally, students had to take a comprehensive exam on Meat Storage and Handling, Meat Cookery Methods, Live Animal Care and Handling, Meat Purchasing, and Legislative History.
