Beth Rushing Teaches Students Through Service to Others

“Volunteering changes you. It changes your heart.” It only takes a short conversation or an hour of working with Beth Rushing to know she serves others with her whole heart - not for recognition but because it’s the right thing to do. When Mrs. Rushing began volunteering more than 30 years ago, she had no idea her service would not only change her heart but the hearts of others. Little did she know volunteering would be the start of something that shaped her entire future both professionally and personally.

Reopening Update: 7.17.20

In accordance with Governor Cooper’s recommendation, Union Academy will begin school remotely on our planned start date of Monday, July 27, 2020. Please know we are working diligently to prepare a detailed remote learning plan tailored for each division.

Mr. Marshall Discusses Remote Learning and Plan B

Yesterday Governor Cooper announced that North Carolina public schools are encouraged to open according to Plan B. We are pleased by this decision to be able to open school according to these strict safety guidelines. Please watch the video in the link to hear Mr. Marshall's response.

Union Academy FFA Places 1st in the State FFA Meats Evaluation Career Development Event

Monroe, NC – Wednesday, July 8. The Union Academy FFA Meats Evaluation Team finished first overall in the NC State FFA Meat Evaluation CDE State FFA team competition. Individually, Union Academy placed all four team members in the top ten highest scoring individuals overall. Isaac Williams (1st) was the high scoring individual overall followed by Gracie Williams (2nd overall), Cade Stegall (4th overall) and Kaleb Pope (6th overall).
