Exploring Lower Campus a few weeks ago, UA Pre-K students noticed the ladybugs and bees were acting differently. Why are the ladybugs huddled together in large groups? Why are the bees crawling on the ground?
To find the answers to their questions, the children conducted research online, in books, and on the playground! Their book focus, The Grouchy Ladybug, is written and illustrated by Eric Carle, one of UA Pre-K’s favorite authors.
For some hands-on experience with the good-luck insects, students held ladybugs in their hands, and some kids even let the ladybugs crawl around on their faces!
