Communications Director Jennifer Sutton Smith accepted awards for six categories: Digital Media (gold), Photography (gold), Graphic Design (gold), Publications (silver), Excellence in Writing (bronze), and Marketing (bronze). The awards are in recognition of Union Academy’s committed coverage of student and teacher success as well as outstanding communication to all stakeholders.
The awards program, which recognizes effective school communications and public relations, was held on January 31 at the O. Henry Hotel in Greensboro. NCSPRA President Todd Hagans and Vice President Dr. Patricia Hollingsworth presented the awards to the state winners.
“I am proud to represent Union Academy and pleased to know our communication to stakeholders has earned statewide recognition,” said Smith.
(from the NCSPRA website) The North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) seeks to promote excellence and professionalism in school communications and public relations through the Blue Ribbon Awards program.
A Blue Ribbon Award is the highest honor a school district can receive from the North Carolina School Public Relations Association. The award recognizes excellence in school communications and public relations in eight categories: digital media engagement, electronic media, excellence in writing, image/graphic design, marketing, photography, publications (print and electronic), and special events and programs.
The awards presented honor outstanding school communications efforts in 2019. The entries were judged by the Board of Directors of the Georgia School Public Relations Association. There are three award levels: gold, silver, and bronze. The judges score entries based on content, quality, effectiveness, and overall impression.
