Elizabeth “Lizzie” Morris is the lower school principal for Union Academy. She grew up in Weddington, North Carolina and attended University of North Carolina Wilmington and Charlotte where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She began teaching in the Charlotte- Mecklenburg school district and then Union County Public Schools. After 10 years of teaching elementary school, she joined Union Academy in 2018 and taught middle school. In 2019, Lizzie earned her Master’s Degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. Lizzie continues to have a passion for supporting teachers and building strong relationships with the students at Union Academy.
Mrs. Zorn brings with her a wealth of experience and a heart for student success. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Special Education K–12 from Appalachian State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Wingate University. This year marks her 25th year in education, during which she has served in numerous roles including middle school EC teacher, EC program specialist, instructional coach, MTSS coordinator, and assistant principal at the elementary level for five years. For the last five years, she has made a positive and lasting impact on our students as an elementary EC teacher here at UA.
Mrs. Zorn has been part of the UA family for 10 years, not just as a dedicated teacher but also as a proud parent to three children who attend our school.
