Mr. Zorn joined Union Academy in the summer of 2014, following nine years of service with Union County Public School System as an Assistant Principal. His career began at Walnut Creek Middle School in Pennsylvania, where he taught 8th grade math for five years before moving to North Carolina in 2005.
Mr. Zorn grew up in Angola, NY and graduated from Lake Shore Central High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Mercyhurst University in Mathematics Education and earned his Graduate degree in School Administration from Edinboro University.
Mr. Zorn loves to spend his free time with his beautiful wife, Kelley, and three amazing children, Carter, Adilyn, and Deacon. He also stays busy with his 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 11 chickens. He is passionate about volleyball and assists with Union Academy's girls' volleyball team when he can.
Ms. Supernavage was raised in New Jersey and has been teaching various grades and levels of science (as well as Physical Education and Psychology) since 2001 on both the west and east coasts. She was a fellow at the Charlotte Teachers Institute for three years, where she participated in various seminars working closely with amazing professors from Davidson College. Through this life-changing experience, she was able to design three unique curriculum units which have been published for the Yale National Initiative. She has had the honor and immense pleasure of being at Union Academy since 2014, teaching AP Biology, Honors Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Forensic Science, hosting the Pinterest Club, coaching Girls on the Run, being the Student Council Advisor, and helping out with anything that is asked of her. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Academics and Student Engagement for the high school. In addition to this role, she also teaches AP Biology and advises the High School Student Council.
She has an amazing son who is a rising sophomore at Union Academy and a crazy boxer pup named Oakley. She loves the beach and travelling around the world and can often be seen on many adventures with her son. Her other hobbies include having a dance party while cleaning her house, reading, playing tennis (not very well), kickboxing, doing crafts, and just being outdoors. Being a mommy, an educator, and the best person she can be is what she feels she was put on this Earth to do.

Mr. Horne came to Union Academy in the 21-22 school year and to teach 5th Grade Social Studies, however, he is currently serving as the Middle and High School Assistant Principal. This happens to be his second go-round in education after retiring with 30 years as a Teacher, Coach, Technology Engineer, and Administrator in 2020. He met his wife, Shelia at Forest Hills in 1992 and they have 2 children: Gabriel, 24 (NC State, 2020) and Magdalene, 22 (UNC, 2022). Shelia also retired from teaching in 2021, Gabe is a 1st Lt. in the US Army, and Maggie continues the education legacy teaching High School Math in Savannah at the Academy of Arts Magnet School. Mr. Horne has literally been in school over 48 years of his life.He feels that school is where he belongs and cannot wait to see the smiling faces of students and teachers, hear the chatter of friends greeting each other in the halls and courtyard, and laughter of our future as they head to class. When not at school, he loves spending time with his family along with golfing, tennis, yardwork, building computers, reading and gaming!
