Hello!

My name is Erika Braswell, and this is my first year at Union Academy! I am thrilled to be joining this amazing community and cannot wait to see what this year holds. 

I am a Union County native, Wingate born and raised (Go Bulldogs!). This will be my ninth year teaching. I am currently teaching English 2 Honors and English 4. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English and Education from Wingate University. During my second year of teaching, I decided to pursue my Master's degree through Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), and I hold a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Reading and Literacy. I also am Gifted and Talented and AP Literature endorsed. I consider myself a lifelong student, and I look forward to many more learning opportunities in the future. I am a firm believer that as a teacher, I should constantly be learning in order to better myself so that I can better prepare my students to be contributing members of society. I hope to create lifelong learners who are empathetic and creative.  

In my spare time, you'll find me pursuing my love of interior design, reading, and running.
