Brandon Austin
Welcome to Mrs. Austin's English page!
I have been teaching at Union Academy since the 2017-2018 school year, but I have been a part of the UA family since my son started Kindergarten here in 2012. Prior to my time at UA, I taught English Language Arts in the Union County Public Schools. I am a proud graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and a lifelong Tarheel. Go Heels! Additionally, I hold a graduate certificate in Academically and Intellectually Gifted Education from UNCC.
Supply List
-
All students will need:
- A binder with pockets (may be shared with other classes)
- Ruled notebook paper
- Pens and/or pencils
Over the course of the year, I will ask you to read independent and class novels. For independent reading, I will always schedule time to check out books from the media center. For class novels, if they are not available on the internet, I may ask you to obtain a copy*. For all of our reading, e-books, library books, borrowed books, used books, and new books are acceptable. You can even use your school ID to check books AND e-books out of the Union County Public Library. I will always give a good amount of lead time before you need to have your copy in class.
*If, for any reason, you are unable to obtain a copy of a required text, please don't hesitate to let me know.
