Welcome to 4th Grade! 

I am so excited to be working with you and your child to make this an amazing year together. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. This will be my 21st year of teaching  3rd, 4th and 5th grades and love working with children. This will be my twelfth year teaching 4th grade at Union Academy and I am so happy to be part of the UA family. I have two children, Molly and Jack. Molly is a graduate of Union Academy and will be a sophomore at North Carolina State University and Jack is beginning  his junior year at UA.  

I am so excited about teaching our advanced students in our SOAR program. In our classroom we will cover the North Carolina grade level standards as our baseline, and then push beyond the standards to allow each child to reach their full potential. We will be using project-based learning, teaming and teacher mentoring to help achieve these goals.

I love allowing students to become their best selves through character, challenge and community education. I believe in setting high expectations and watching children develop a true sense of pride as they meet their goals.
